There are many reasons for this, not the least of which is to balance load on the update servers, as well as to allow the devs to catch up with any new bugs, etc. However, all software vendors of which I am aware - from MS to Mozilla to the various AV companies - ALWAYS "throttle" software updates, over several hours, days or weeks. I am just a home user and volunteer, so I cannot speak for the staff or the company. I don't really see the necessity to wait for the 2.0.2 update to be rolled out to users.
